The lower tuition will afford hundreds of students the ability to stay in the Jewish day school system after grade eight. Next we must strengthen the elementary schools, other high schools, ensure the long-term sustainability of the program at TanenbaumCHAT and focus on the issue of affordability across all corners our community.

The Jewish Teen Board is a project-based learning experience in which teens run a real foundation by selecting causes they care about facilitated through a meaningful and structured process. Participants are guided through the process of fundraising and taught about grant-making. Through a series of workshops, teens will experience being a part of a REAL board, focusing on REAL community needs, and giving away REAL money through a yearly grant making cycle.

Prominent Toronto portrait photographer Sylvia Schwartz (1914-1998) began her career during the 1940s.  The OJA's collection of more than 3500 portraits range from prominent Jewish families, WWII servicemen, jazz musicians and children.
