Social Security is not a Ponzi scheme

Elect Russ Feingold We need to stand together to protect and expand Social Security This is a paid advertising message, which helps us bring you great content for free. Friend -- As I travel across Wisconsin, I talk to countless seniors who are being squeezed, worrying that savings and Social Security won't be enough for their retirement. I hear from many seniors who are concerned they won't be able to afford the rising cost of prescription drugs. Other retired Wisconsinites worry they have to make a choice between groceries and medication. Many of them tell me they worry about unforeseen medical costs. That's why expanding Social Security is so crucial. Seniors here in Wisconsin and across the country deserve a stronger safety net. But Republicans, like my opponent Senator Ron Johnson, aren't listening. Worse than that, my opponent regularly calls Social Security a "Ponzi scheme" and laments that the program was never privatized -- a change which would slash benefits. He's wrong. Join me in standing for a stronger Social Security. Sign on now to support expanding Social Security for seniors here in Wisconsin and across America. Social Security is a crucial program for so many seniors, both here in Wisconsin and across the country. To suggest that we privatize it dismisses the vital support it provides to so many Americans. That's why I'm standing with Wisconsin seniors by supporting the expansion of Social Security -- not cuts to benefits and not privatization. And because we must make sure Social Security is solvent for generations to come, it's high time the richest Americans pay their fair share into our Social Security system. If they did, we could pay for expanded benefits for everyone. These are just a few ways to strengthen Social Security -- but these are just a beginning. Sign now if you support expanding and strengthening Social Security -- and let's put Republicans like Ron Johnson on notice! Thank you for standing up for Social Security.
